Air/water heat pump with inverter technology
This powerful 24 kW air-to-water heat pump, equipped with a Mitsubishi compressor, can reduce your energy needs by up to 75%. Installation is simple and does not require a refrigeration technician.
With current energy prices, the investment cost for this heat pump can be saved already during the first winter.
Lyfco's powerful inverter-controlled air/water heat pump with automatic defrosting is designed for the Swedish climate and works down to temperatures of -30 °C.
Who should consider this heat pump?
This heat pump is ideal for those who have a water-based heating system in their home. The inverter function provides a high COP value and significant energy savings even at temperatures down to -30 °C.
We recommend this heat pump for properties up to 300 m². It may be a good idea to consult an energy consultant to ensure that the output is suitable for your needs, as factors such as insulation, number of residents, the house's construction and geographical location can affect the need.
The model can be used to heat water in an accumulator tank or radiators with a water-based system. However, it is important to note that all air source heat pumps perform worse the lower the temperature outside, so a secondary heat source may be needed to ensure sufficient heat during the coldest days of the year.
The heat pump can also be used as a complement to an existing system that needs extra heating power at a low cost. In such cases, we recommend using the Lyfco HP050-DC-W as the primary heat source and your existing electric, oil, pellet or wood boiler as a secondary heat source that is only used in extreme cold. See attached installation suggestion.
Another option is to use an immersion heater in the accumulator tank, which can be automatically controlled by the HP050-DC-W to activate when extra heat is needed.
Remote control
The Lyfco HP050-DC-W comes with a control panel that has an easy-to-use LCD display and allows you to control the unit from inside the house.
This model is also equipped with WiFi support, which means you can control the heat pump via a mobile app, no matter where you are. The heat pump connects to your local WiFi network and is compatible with the Smart Life app from Tuya.
Heat pump with inverter-controlled compressor
The Lyfco HP040-DC-W has an inverter-controlled compressor, which means that the compressor speed is continuously adjusted. This provides higher efficiency (higher COP value) and lower energy consumption compared to traditional heat pumps with on/off technology. Inverter technology also brings other benefits such as increased lifespan and lower noise levels.
High COP value at low temperatures
The heat pump has a COP of 4.48. Thanks to the advanced inverter technology, the heat pump can maintain a high COP even at extremely low temperatures. For example, at -15 °C (with a leaving water temperature of 35 °C), the COP is a whopping 4.26, which is very good, even in comparison with significantly more expensive models. At temperatures below -30 °C, the unit switches off automatically and restarts when the temperature rises again.
Mitsubishi compressor for Nordic conditions
The HP050-DC-W uses an EVI compressor with inverter control from renowned Japanese manufacturer Mitsubishi, a component typically found in more expensive systems. The EVI compressor is specifically designed to provide efficient performance in extremely cold climates.
Easy installation
Lyfco HP050-DC-W is a monoblock heat pump that consists of only one outdoor unit. This means that there is no need to handle refrigerant between the indoor and outdoor parts. The installation therefore does not require a certified refrigeration technician, which makes the installation both cheaper and easier. Installation can be carried out by a regular plumber, and the electrical connection is made by an electrician.
The system also does not need to be vacuumed after installation, which is necessary for many systems with separate indoor and outdoor units. Instead, you connect water-carrying pipes directly to the heat pump, and get hot water in the return connection. Please note that the pipes outside must be insulated.
It is important that the heat pump is placed on a stable and well-drained foundation. The ground underneath needs to be well-drained so that condensation can drain away. The heat pump can also be mounted on a wall using a wall bracket.
Monoblock vs split system
A split heat pump consists of an outdoor unit with a compressor, condenser and fan, and an indoor unit with a heat exchanger and control system. The two units are connected by a pipe containing refrigerant, and the heating takes place indoors.
A monoblock air-to-water heat pump is different in that the entire system is integrated into a single outdoor unit, where the water is led out to the heat pump for heating via insulated water pipes. Since no intervention in the refrigerant circuit is required, the installation of a monoblock heat pump is less complicated and can be carried out without the need for a certified refrigeration technician.
Stable construction
The HP050-DC-W is a very stable and quiet heat pump, made with a robust cabinet made of powder-coated thick steel. All components have generous dimensions, which means that the heat pump weighs a full 140 kg. Many cheaper heat pumps with the same capacity have a lighter construction to keep the price down, resulting in their weight being half that of the HP040-DC-W.
A heating cable is installed in the trough to prevent ice formation, a common problem for air source heat pumps in our cold and humid climate.
