THE SWAN - BORÅS
Former steam sloop built with a riveted iron hull at Ljunggren's Mechanical Workshop in Kristianstad in 1882, one of Sweden's oldest passenger ships still in service.

The steam engine remained on the ship until 1960, when it was replaced with a diesel engine.
This was in turn replaced with the one still on the ship, in 1965.
It has been well-maintained over the years and is virtually indestructible.
At "shrimp speed" (about 5 knots) the stress is minimal, about 800 revolutions/minute.
History:
Delivered in 1882 as an inspection ship to the Sölvesborg Port Authority.
Named SIRI. Later towing missions and passenger traffic.
