Restaurant boat M/S Sandskär – completely renovated steel ship with great potential

 

Now is the opportunity to acquire M/S Sandskär – a classic steel ship from 1960 with a solid history and extensive renovations. The boat is today in very good condition after a total overhaul where both the engine room and interior were renovated for approximately four million kronor. The ship is located in Norrköping.

Renovations and condition

The current owner has invested approximately four million kronor in a complete renovation of the ship over a two-year period. The work includes, among other things:

 

  • Review and renovation of engines and engine rooms

  • Blasting and repainting of the entire hull

  • Hull measurement completed with very good results

  • Complete interior renovation

  • New restaurant interior

  • New dishwasher 2023 (cost approximately SEK 40,000)

  • Two toilets

  • Possibility of both sewage tank and municipal sewage via cutting pump

 

 

Operating status and note

During transport home from Motala, one of the engines was running a little hot. A gasket on an intake system therefore needs to be replaced. The work is not extensive, but the right spare part needs to be found and the entire system should be checked.

 

Serving capacity

  • Outdoor dining: tables and chairs for an additional 60–70 guests at the quayside are included

 

History

The ship has a long and well-documented history. It was delivered in 1960 to the shipping company HADAG in Hamburg and has since been in service in both Finland and Sweden. Previous names include Vesimies, Suvi and Furuskär. Since 1998, the boat has been named M/S Sandskär and has been used as a charter and restaurant ship. Current owners include illusionist Joe Labero , and major investments have been made to create a unique restaurant and event environment.

 

Location and display

The ship is moored at the quay in Norrköping. Viewings are by appointment.

Three ways to bid

Classic - The bidding is fully handled by the system. The goal is to always place a bid right above the competing bidders but no more than that. The bidding service automatically places bids in your name up to your maxbid. The minimum bidding intervalls vary between items.

No reserve price

There is no reserve price for this item. That means that the highest bid will always be a winning bid.

Reserve price not reached

The bid has not yet reached the reserve price which is the price that the seller is willing to sell the item for. If the auction ends without the reserve price being reached, one of the following will happen. 1) The seller accepts the bid and an invoice is sent to the bidder within 3 working days. 2) A representative from PS Auction calls the bidder to negotiate the price within 3 working days. 3) The seller does NOT accept the bid. The item is either not sold at all or re-auctioned.

Reserve price reached

The bid has reached the reservation price the seller is willing to sell the item for. Unless something unforeseen happens, the bidder will receive an invoice for the item after the auction has ended.
